What is the easiest way to clean costume jewellery?

Posted by admin on June 1st, 2010 and filed under jewellery | 8 Comments »

I’m looking for some tips on how to clean my costume jewellery. I have found many gold and silver jewellery cleaners on the internet, but the stuff I want to clean is fake so don’t know if they would work. I know it’s only cheap stuff but I don’t want to have to throw it away just because it’s a bit old and dull looking. Any help greatly appreciated.

soak in a bowl of white vinegar mixed with baking soda. then take a tooth brush and scrub jewelery, rinse in cold water. i use that all the time for all my jewelery and it works really well and makes it really shiny! hope that helps!

What is the best way to transport jewellery on holiday?

Posted by admin on May 20th, 2010 and filed under jewellery | 3 Comments »

I need a way to take all my pendants, dangly earrings, bangles on holiday. Jewellery boxes are too heavy and jewellery rolls tend to cater for smaller more delicate pieces. Any other ideas?

i wouldn´t…
but get one of those velvet "sheets" that you see in jeweler shops when they show you chains, diamonds etc..secure the chains with security pins to the velvet ,and everything you can secure to it.then roll it up!if you can not secure rings and smaller earrings, cut individual pieces of velvet and roll and put inside the larger roll.
but i would not travel with all my stuff.
have fun in your trip

What type of jewellery is best suited for a cartilage piercing?

Posted by admin on May 16th, 2010 and filed under jewellery | 2 Comments »

Whats the best jewellery (Barbell, Capture ring or stud?)

and whats the best type (stainless steel, titanium, gold)
u know that kinda stuff
please help
It’s a helix piercing… if that helps any!
what kind would be best suited for that
Also it 14gauge hole.

Depends on what type of cartilage piercing you have (i.e. industrial,rook,tragus,snug,daith,anti-tragus,etc.)

It also depends on the gauge of the hole in the cartilage too.
